Interest rate for Mijn VerbouwLening drops to 1.5%

Interest rate for Mijn VerbouwLening drops to 1.5%

Since September 1, 2022, Associations of Co-Owners (VMEs) can also use the Mijn VerbouwLening. This loan can amount to 60,000 euros, supplemented with 25,000 euros per apartment, and is intended for renovations to the common parts. This involves works that both improve housing quality and increase energy performance.

The interest rate of the Mijn VerbouwLening is adjusted annually and is linked to the legal interest rate. This currently stands at 4.5%. Thanks to a discount of 3%, the effective interest rate now comes to 1.5%. Previously this was 2.75%. The new interest rate applies immediately to all applications since February 4, 2025.

For co-owners, this is an interesting development. Major renovations such as roof insulation, facade work or replacement of a common heating installation often require a substantial investment. With the lower interest rate, it is now even more advantageous to finance these works through the Mijn VerbouwLening.

A concrete example: suppose a VME takes out a loan of 100,000 euros for insulation work. At an interest rate of 2.75%, the monthly payment was noticeably higher than now at 1.5%. This difference can save thousands of euros in the long run.

The drop in the interest rate makes the Mijn VerbouwLening more attractive than ever. For VMEs, this is the moment to no longer postpone planned renovations. Thanks to the support measure, investing in the future of the building becomes much more feasible and advantageous.
